2020: How It Has Shaped BenzaRid

Most people can agree that 2020 has been a year like any other. As a global pandemic has swept across the country, many have lost their lives, their homes, or their sense of security. While some businesses have faltered, others have blossomed and used this time as an opportunity to reach out a helping hand. Our little company, BenzaRid, here in Buford, Georgia has seized the unique opportunity that this year has provided for us to amplify our mission of creating a safer, more sanitary world. While we mourn the loss of every single life that has been lost to this needless epidemic, we also stand with pride behind a company that prioritizes health, wellness, and a natural solution to protection.

We are honored to be open and operating an Essential Service company with FDA/EPA Facilities, with consistent manufacturing of a much-needed medical supply. Our EPA Registered disinfectants have been certified to kill Human Coronavirus. Our BenzaRid disinfectant has helped to support many hospitals, medical facilities, and individual customers for many years; this year has seen a dramatic increase in growth due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. It hasn’t been easy, but our small staff of dedicated employees has persevered through the challenge and risen above in this milestone time. By implementing safety protocols recommended by the CDC such as wearing masks, setting up hand sanitizing stations facility-wide, and proper sanitizing and disinfecting of equipment as well as building-wide sterilization, we have been able to keep up with the ever-increasing demand for sanitizing products like BenzaRid to help keep our community and customers safe.

As the CDC carefully assesses and studies the virus and how it affects the human body, they have laid out specific guidelines in the hopes that it will effectively curve the spread of this deadly illness. With our knowledge and understanding of how the virus works, the policies have changed to better assist everyone. It is vital to stay informed on the most up-to-date guidelines. The following is more detailed information about Covid-19 to help keep you and your family safe.

What is Covid-19?

The 2019 Novel Coronavirus, also known as SARS-COV-2, is a new strain of coronavirus. On 2/11/2020 the World Health Organization announced an official name for the disease that is caused by the 2019 novel coronavirus outbreak, COVID-19. According to the World Health Organization, Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that cause illnesses ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome.

How Do I Know If I Have It?

Covid-19 has similar symptoms to a number of other illnesses. To ensure that you keep your friends and loved ones safe, please get tested if you have one or more of the following symptoms:

Fever/Chills

Cough

Headaches

Shortness of breath/difficulty breathing

Fatigue

Muscle or body aches

Loss of taste or smell (this symptom Is especially important as it is one of the defining symptoms of Covid-19)

Nausea

Vomiting

Diarrhea

Other symptoms are signs of serious illness**. If someone has trouble breathing, chest pain or pressure, or difficulty staying awake, get medical care immediately.

How does Covid-19 Spread?

According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the virus is thought to spread mainly from person to person, particularly between people who are in close contact with one another (6 feet or less). This is why following proper safety and cleanliness guidelines are so important: with the right steps, the disease is much less likely to spread.

How Can I Help Slow the Spread?

There are a few different ways that you can help do your part in slowing the spread of CoVid-19.

Wear a mask to protect yourself and others and stop the spread of COVID-19.

Stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arm lengths) from others who do not live with you and avoid crowds.

Wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.

Stay home when you are feeling under the weather and quarantine to protect others.

What Happens If You Feel Under the Weather?

Not all heroes wear capes but they all make sacrifices. If you are feeling sick, do not try to tough it out. Take care of yourself and others, protect the ones that you love and care about by simply following these guidelines.

Stay home except to get medical care. Most people with COVID-19 have mild illness and recover at home without medical care.

Isolate yourself from other members of your family to prevent spread to them and the people that they may have contact with, like grandparents.

If you have to leave isolation, wear a mask, stay 6 feet apart from others, wash your hands frequently, and clean all touched surfaces.

Get care immediately if you are having emergency warning signs**, like trouble breathing, pain, or pressure in the chest.

Even if you don’t feel sick, you can spread COVID-19 to others. Be sure that you protect everyone as though they are the most fragile person in your family.

When to Seek Emergency Medical Attention**

Look for emergency warning signs* for COVID-19. If someone is showing any of these signs, seek emergency medical care immediately:

Trouble breathing

Persistent pain or pressure in the chest

New confusion

Inability to wake or stay awake

Bluish lips or face

*This list is not all possible symptoms. Please call your medical provider for any other symptoms that are severe or concerning to you.

Call 911 or call ahead to your local emergency facility: Notify the operator that you are seeking care for someone who has or may have COVID-19.
